When you visit our website

As part of our commitment to our customers, we collect data when you visit our website. This data may be how many visitors we have to individual pages, how many pages are visited and what the geographical location is of our visitors, using cookies or similar technology.

When an order is placed

As part of our service, we must collect information such as your name, billing and delivery address, phone number and email address. In addition to information about what you’ve ordered this information is used to make your delivery, confirm your order, process your payment and ensure fraud protection.

We may share this data with third parties so they can provide services such as finance, warranty, repair or payment processors.

In some cases, we may need to contact other companies including shipping, name and address verification, market research etc. These companies only receive the information required to do their service, and we ensure that your privacy is protected and respected. They are not allowed to use this information or share it with anybody other than Goldsmith Furniture Ltd by contract.

For payment to be facilitated, your billing details are both encrypted and tokenised to ensure they are protected and passed through a payment gateway to providers. We do not save any payment or credit card information.

To enable us to handle any warranties, repairs or returns, this data is kept for no more than ten years. At that time, the data will be either anonymised or deleted so it cannot personally identify you.

You can opt to be forgotten

It is your right to be forgotten at any time. You can arrange this by requesting that any or all personal data that we hold on you is deleted at any time.  The only reason we would not do this for you is if it’s in breach of any regulatory or legal obligations we have, but we would inform you at the time if this were the case.

Our processor WordPress and others use limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.

Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:

  • Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This denylist persists for a small number of hours.
  • Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses. This denylist persists for a small number of days.

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you, to port it to a new service, and to ask that your Personal Information be corrected, updated, or erased.
